King’s passion for caviar and fine chocolate does not stop there. We support a number of charitable projects, focusing our efforts on St Davids Care in the Community campaign. St Davids was founded as a registered charity in 1982. It caters for young adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities, providing living space, education and development for their needs throughout their lives. In 2008 Laura helped organize and a charity ball in aid of this great cause, hosted at The Dorchester in London. The event was to celebrate the charities 30th anniversary. The event was black tie and included a champagne reception, raffle draw, live music and a silent auction. Many of our own products, such as wild smoked salmon were used on the menu. The raffle price included, return flights to New York, luxury hampers and more. The event raised over £80,000 and was a huge success. Laura also organized an audience with Sir Garfield Sobers and Brian Lara at The Nursery Pavillion, at Lord’s in 2009. The dinner included an auction conducted by Jeffrey Archer. The menu included smoked Scottish salmon provided by Kings. Once again this event was a huge success and raised over £25,000 for the charity. In 2009 Laura arranged to take 9 friends to Base Camp Everest and held the highest breakfast in the world serving King’s Caviar, Amedei Chocolate, Sliced Smoked Salmon and Champagne. She raised £68,000! In the last 5 years Laura has raised almost £500,000 for St Davids. As a trustee for the charity, Laura is now planning on taking the residents of St David’s to climb Snowden and is also planning another Charity Ball for next year.
